1. Who we are
Famzyo (the “Service”) is operated by Spencer Ryan-Prewett (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data we process about you in connection with the Service. You can reach us at hello@famzyo.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), profile preferences.
- Family content — events, tasks, shopping items, messages and reminders you and your invited family members create.
- Usage & device data — log entries, IP address, device and browser type, timestamps, error reports.
- Support communications — anything you send to us when you ask for help.
- Billing metadata — your subscription tier and status. Card details are collected and held by our payment provider, not by us.
3. How we use your data
- To create and maintain your account and family workspace.
- To deliver, secure and improve the Service.
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To provide customer support.
- To send essential service emails (e.g. account, billing, security).
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal basis (UK/EEA users)
- Performance of a contract — providing the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the Service secure, preventing misuse, and improving features.
- Legal obligation — meeting tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Consent — for any optional communications (e.g. marketing), where applicable; you can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Sharing your data
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers / subprocessors who help us run the Service — including hosting and database providers, email delivery and error monitoring tools.
- Paddle.com Inc. and its affiliates, our Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments, manages your subscription, handles tax compliance, and issues invoices and refunds on our behalf.
- Other invited members of your family can see family content you add to your shared workspace.
- Professional advisers (e.g. legal, accounting) where reasonably necessary.
- Authorities where we are required to do so by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside the UK/EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy decisions.
7. Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with our legal, accounting and security obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see “Your rights” below).
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our providers’ security practices. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. UK/EEA users may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). We aim to respond to verified requests within one month. To exercise any right, email hello@famzyo.com.
10. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We may use limited analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can manage cookies in your browser; disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from working correctly.
11. Children
Famzyo is designed for use by households that may include children. Children should only use Famzyo with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can address it.
12. Changes
We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
